With the construction of a new campus building came the need to provide state-of-the-art media equipment and access to it. Media Services, with its extensive experience promoting, developing and installing media systems across the UCSC campus, was hired to design and install a video/data projector, podium, complete media cabinet with fixed audio-visual equipment, and a sound system.

Equipment in the complete installation includes:

• Video/data projector
• Smart Panel to cleanly connect computers, microphones, and other input devices externally to the system
• Document camera
• DVD/CD player
• VCR
• Audio cassette deck
• Audio mixer/amplifier
• Two JBL 8-inch wall speakers
• Podium with reading light

Below is a look at a typical cost structure for an installation such as Bay Tree Conference Room D. Since installations vary significantly depending on the needs of a particular space or department, costs may vary from this specific installation.
